The Backstory

Dr. Dawnn Karen, a fashion psychologist, tells us that what we wear affects our levels of dopamine. Dopamine is the “feel-good neurotransmitter” that helps us feel joyful.

  • The idea is that certain garments can trigger a release of dopamine in our brains when worn, making us feel good and even more confident.
  • Clothing with bright or bold colors is thought to be especially effective because they have been proven to attract attention and boost self-esteem.
  • Dopamine dressing could mean adding more color in your day-to-day clothing or choosing a loved accessory, such as earrings.

I’m a mom of 3 boys (6 and under) who spends a lot of time trying to beat her oldest at basketball and soccer - while - making sure the littles have enough “snacks”. I also work fulltime - sometimes in an office - and whether at work or at play felt uninspired.

I learned about dopamine dressing and slowly started adding more color to my day, but a runway look isn't always practical. I found that adding some statement earrings could easily dress up my sweats and make me feel more put together.

🙌 All of my pieces are handmade.

🥰 Polymer clay jewelry is very super lightweight making it comfortable and easy to wear.

🌈 I have a penchant for rainbows and you’ll see them in many of my one-of-a-kind pieces.

💃 #dopaminedressing is our motto here! If you are happy, you can bet I’m doing a happy dance for every, single order.
